Published WW1 German M16 Camouflage Helmet

As featured on the front cover of Stahlschutzhelme 1915-1918 by Oliver Lock & also on pages 138 & 142 this M16 camouflage helmet would be on the top shelf on any advanced collection.
Following closely the general outline given in the 7th July 1918 Ludendorff directive this helmet was souvenired by an American serviceman & purchased in the USA some years ago. Being of the classic tan ochre , forest green & brown in sharp cornered patches this method of application is mentioned in the directive. Never cleaned or oiled it retains its untreated & dry untouched patina very typical of such USA found helmets. All three liner pins are undisturbed & original to the helmet matching the camouflage application on each. Underside of rim is marked 'BF62' for the firm Fulda with pencil written soldier writing to underside of front & rear rims. Leather liner & band have remained in excellent order.
