WW2 US Gas Cape - 'Cover, Protective, Individual' Pre D-Day Dated 1943

A pre D Day 1943 dated U.S. WW2 issue Gas Cape still in its issue green packet to be used in case of poisonous gas attack.
These were in clear & dark green plastic & after unfolding completely protected the soldier with weapon & equipment. It could also be used as an overhead cover in a foxhole or to line its bottom.

Printed contract information on package together with WW2 issue dates and "Note: This cover is to protect you against sprayed vesicants."
