WW1 French 202nd Infantry Regiment Officers Cap

WW1 French Infantry officers Kepi to a Captain of the 202nd Infantry regiment & of the style that was being worn by infantry officer in the field before the introduction of the Adrian helmet in 1915.
A classic Polo pattern being much more streamlined than the earlier 'Saumur' style it has a high front & three rank braids denoting the rank. The knot to top is of the distinctive WW1 pattern being shorter & more ornate than its postwar counterparts.
Gilt chinstrap buttons are for infantry with flaming grenade , gilt officer chinstrap is in excellent order. Interior silk lining is very torn at one area however this exposes the jute/burlap stiffening which was discontinued in around 1931.
Classic French infantry officer piece.
