A WW2 British army ration bag coming with ration tin to contain Boiled Sweets , Salt & Matches' .
These white cotton bags were intended for rations such as dried pork & beef , bread, biscuits & tobacco when available. Although undated it has a soldiers seven digit service number of the Cameronians denoting a wartime issue , 1945 issues were of green cotton drill . The Boiled Sweets , Salt & Matches tin is from the 'Compo' ration & was packed in December 1943.
