WW1 German M16 Steel Combat Helmet
A textbook example of the iconic WW1 German M16 steel combat helmet .
Still with a very high proportion of its original factory green paint to inside & out the M16 leather liner band is tight to the helmet with all three of its pins totally undisturbed. The three leather pads remain present & largely intact with all three of its cushions still in place. There is some handwriting to one of the pads which begins with 'Uffz' & then a name so we know this is the rank of Unteroffizier. There is also some writing on a smaller area of one of the other pads which I cannot make out . Maker mark & size 'BF64' to underside of rim , there is also faint scratching to rear rim which appears to be the same name .
