Sand Camouflaged British Helmet, Steel, Airborne Troops , 50s/60s Period
A sand camouflaged HSAT MkII helmet of the 1950s, 60s period with grit mixed rough sand camouflage paint to exterior & net applied over the top.
It is interesting to note that although a postwar example it still has a wartime produced chinstrap fitted with the distinctive tape edging which was discontinued on postwar examples. The maker mark of 'CCL' can be seen to leather liner with size ' 6 5/8' The date is no longer legible through wear .
Overall a heavily worn helmet no doubt worn by a member of the Airborne forces in one of the Middle Eastern campaigns.
