WW1 German Wicker Shell Carrier With Delville Wood Pickup Label
A German wicker shell carrier complete with its pressed tin lid & a section of labelled wood all found together at Delville Wood in 1919.
The seperate section of wood was found within the basket & has on it an old typed paper label regarding its provenance. There is also an old paper label glued onto the basket which is now illegible. A secons attached luggage typed label reads ' The label on the exterior of basket is not legible. The label on the piece of wood inside the basket reads '' Wood found inside basket Delville Wood Sept 1919.".
