WW2 British MkIII 'Turtle Helmet' With Camouflage Net 1944
A superb textbook camouflage netted example of the MkIII ' Turtle ' helmet issued to assault formations of the 21st Army Group just prior to the Normandy invasion & seen in wear on the beaches of D-Day on the 6th June 1944.
This helmet still has its correct & original camouflage netting fitted this tied down inside the liner around the rubber cushions of the cradle. Factory painted in a granulated khaki brown finish the securing nut of the liner on the top of the helmet is totally undisturbed. Liner cradle arm is faintly marked with what appears to be 'BMB' with the clear date 1944.
Fabulous D-Day helmet !
