WW1 German ORs Belt & Buckle Of Prussia , Named To A Kanonier
A wonderful WW1 Imperial German enlisted mans belt set with Prussian belt buckle & Stuttgart maker marked & 1917 dated brown belt.
Wartime produced belts were left in undyed natural brown leather the prewar versions having been blackened along with items of equipment . This process proved too time consuming & costly so as of 1914 they were left in their natural state as here. The belt buckle is of the earlier M1895 pattern in brass & nickel & has its leather belt tab present Their is a unit marking of what appears to be ' IR 52' to the tab. The steel tabbed belt leather has handwritten owners details for that of a Kanonier .
