WW1 German M17 Steel Helmet With Monogrammed Owners Name
A quite unique WW1 German M17 helmet that the owner has written his monogrammed initials into with ' 2 K ' for 2nd Kompany .
Helmet retains a very good amount of its original green paint to the exterior with faint pencil written name on the underside of the flared rim which has the same style of 'M' monogram to his name. Maker of the helmet is 'Si66' for Silesia . The metal liner band of the M17 pattern is tight & original to the helmet with all pins undisturbed . All three leather liner fingers are present with all three of their cushions inside. Two of the liner pads at one point became detached from the band with these now being held in place by thread to prevent further deterioration.
