WW1 German Bavarian ORs Pickelhaube
A textbook early pickelhaube of Bavaria completely as it would have been worn in the trenches of WW1.
All of its early brass fittings are intact with cockades that are totally correct for this piece . The brass buckled black leather chinstrap has survived well with both of its brass mounts intact. Front plate has a very nice natural age patina to it with a good proportion of its gilding remaining overall. Both of its leather wedges remain to hold the plate lugs in position. Interior black leather lining is intact with general wear & the rear peak has a faint regimental ink stamp on which I cannot quite read the numeral digits. Typical crazing exists to the outer shellac but other than that the condition is excellent.
