WW1 German S98 Bayonet & Scabbard

A German S98 bayonet with regimental markings to hilt of ' 240. R. 9. 62 ' (240 Infantry Regiment , 9th Company , Weapon number 620 .
Back of blade is W cypher marked for Prussia with '06 date. Imperial inspection markings to pommel with working catch. Black scabbard has a kink in the leather with staple minus to chape & is stiff on the drawing out of the blade. Bayonet does fully engage down into the scabbard by a very small approx half centimetre .
