WW1 British '08 Pattern Waterbottle
1908 pattern waterbottle with early fastening to web
cradle .
The thick ';ginger' felted cover is of the correct type of 'shoddy' cloth this being a cheap cloth made from wool which is chopped & then compressed into a felt type material. Bottle is of blue enamel . The webbing cradle shows faint green blanco. Maker MW & S broad arrow marking & faint date to reverse of one side & also the underside of the press studded fastening strap. I am unable to fully discern the date however it may be 1916 ( Not guaranteed ). Nice bottle to find with the correct ginger wool cover.
