WW2 British MKIII ' Turtle ' Helmet 1943
A superb textbook example of the MkIII ' Turtle ' helmet as issued to assault formations of the 21st Army Group just prior to the Normandy invasion & seen in wear on the beaches of D-Day on the 6th June 1944.
Finished in a thick chocolate brown factory paint the liner is marked 'BMB' ( Briggs Motor Bodies) with date '1943' . Chinstrap is intact.
It is incredibly difficult to find midwar issue British helmets especially 1943 dated examples being the first year of issue of the new MkIII .
