A rare high quality private purchase WW2 Household cavalry peaked cap with George VI cap cyphered badge.
This fine item of headdress is purchased from the London tailor Edward Smith of Bond Street & has red band with red piping to crown. The Household cavalry cap badge is paired with matching GR cyphered chinstrap buttons & patent leather chinstrap. The leather peak has gold bullion rank braid with leather peak green skiver leather underside. Forehead area is covered with fine velvet for added comfort & the tailor named lining has a removeable celluloid protective shield fitted.
Overall condition is excellent with no moth just some minor decay to the peaks underside indicative of its age.
