WW2 French Medical Officers M26 Adrian Helmet
Rare WW2 French officers helmet for medical troops with plaid leather chinstrap & M37 roundel bearing the insignia of Caduceus with the serpent of Epidaurus encircling the mirror of prudence . Flanked by the letters 'RF' it is surrounded by a laurel & oakleaves in its entirety.
Helmet is as worn during the Battle For France in 1940 & one of the rarer branches of service with the WW2 issue actually rarer than its WW1 predecessor.
This insignia was adopted in August 1915 when the War Ministry recommended issuing the helmet to medics & doctors. Totally original to the helmet the badge has never been off with a good amount of its original factory green paint still present throughout.
