WW1 British Brodie Helmet
A super untouched example of the WW1 Brodie steel helmet with liner & leather chinstrap.
Exterior of shell has its totally original matt khaki finish achieved by mixing sand , sawdust or crushed cork into the paint. Much trench wear is evident
with two small dents to crown. The original factory paint colour extends to the inside of the helmet with markings of the steel supplier 'FS' for the firm Firth & Sons who were in production from Jan 1916 up to the end of WW1.
The interior liner still has its drawstrung net with the inside felt crown padding remaining nearly 100% intact. This is the 1917 pattern with rubber ring present to inside of crown pad.
Chinstrap is original to the helmet & remains in good supple condition.
