WW1 French Engineers Adjutant Kepi
A very nice untouched WW1 French officers Kepi for an Adjutant in the Engineers with bullion insignia to front & Engineers 'breastplate' buttons to each side.
In the classic 'Polo' style much preferred by younger officers there is one red flecked rank braid around its circumference the red fleck denoting Adjutant rank. The Hungarian knot to top is of the distinctive WW1 style. Interior lining is of green satin with leather underside to peak & sweatband showing heavy wear. Rear stitching of the band has come away after prolonged wear however the front half is very much secure.
These were still much in wear in the early days of WW1 .
