Rare Wurttemberg Ersatz Pickelhaube In Pressed Tin 1914

A wonderful time capsule Ersatz helmet being that of an Ersatz Wurttemberg other ranks soldier from the late 1914 period.
Pickelhaube is of the M1895 ersatz model with brass fittings on a pressed tin black shellacked shell. When one examines the construction it is apparent that the shell is stamped from one piece with , typically , leather liner rivetted in place to interor. The Wurttemburg front plate retains a good amount of its gilt finish with an equal amount of age patina to all of the brass fittings . The leather , brass buckled chinstrap is totally original to the helmet & remains in very good condition with no damage. Both cockades are intact & totally original to the helmet.
