WW2 German Army M34 Sidecap
A WW2 German M34 sidecap the early war standard field cap of the German army.
This scarce large sized cap is made of the early grey green wool & has bevo national insignia to front with the early dark green backed cockade. There is evidence of a soutache having previously existed. These were ordered removed in 1940 for reasons of security as has been done here. Cap has grey twill lining with black ink stamped size mark '58' & the name stamped in red ink ' Hans Weigel Schimdt ' . The air vent holes have been reinforced with stitching as is sometimes seen. Only minimal wear to nap of the cloth & overall in very good condition.
