WW1 French Battle Damaged Adrian Helmet With Shrapnel gash
A WW1 French M15 Adrian helmet that has received a large shrapnel hit & subsequent gash to its front right side.
Helmet still has all of the dirt & grime of a trench worn piece with dark blue paint as was applied after 1916. Front badge is the flaming grenade for infantry , cavalry etc & is firmly affixed. When one examines the gash to the helmet it is clear entry has occurred from the exterior passing through the liner & causing correlating damage to the leather. The shell is produced by the manufacturer 'Le Jouet De Paris' this faintly stamped to interior rear . Liner is of the multi construction brown leather second model seen after 1916. Complete with corrugated ventilation strips.
