WW1 Russian Sohlberg Model 1917 Helmet
A very hard to obtain Russian produced Sohlberg M.17 helmet.
In 1915 Russia was researching producing its own manufactured steel helmets, eventually the Sohlberg helmet was decided upon. This is a very fine example having all its original paint finish, chinstrap & canvas liner with its Adrian style corrugated spacers. All of the configuration is correct. In-depth detail into the history of these helmets shown both in picture format, original drawing format and text within the only work ever produced on the history of the Russian steel helmet published by Ivan Carabanoff for the student of the Russian helmet, a must have publication, published Moscow 2016, text primarily in Russian but with a good degree of English descriptive text.
