WW1 French Infantry Shrapnel Damaged M15 Adrian Helmet

WW1 French M15 Adrian helmet that has received a shrapnel splinter to its rear .
Originally in the earlier lighter blue colour of 1915 issue Adrian helmets the shrapnel splinter has penetrated its rear slicing off the bottom of the crest & passing through the leather liner. There is paint loss around the entry hole to inside & out with correlating damage to the interior liner . Part of the metal has been pushed inwards & folded into the leather upon impact. Liner is of the first issue one piece leather & is backed to its band with dark blue wool from prewar issue uniform material . Corrugated metal air vents still in place & part of its chinstrap remains .
Some minor surface age in places .
