WW1 German Battle Damaged M16 Steel Trench Helmet With Remains Of 1917 Dated Label
A good untouched German M16 steel combat helmet with remains of a 1917 dated capture label to underside of rim & a small impact hole to right side of helmet .
This helmet retains a very good proportion of its original green factory paint with the mud of the trenches still very much evident to its exterior. To the interior can be seen a very old paper capture label largely illegible but with the wording :-
' R....Picked up by B...J...by 105 ...Oct...10...17' .
There is a small impact dent to right side from what was most likely a shrapnel ball . Maker & size of ' ET64' to underside of rim with all three liner pins undisturbed & well seated into the leather band. All thee cushion holders present.
