WW1 French Gendarmerie M15 Adrian Helmet
A scarce WW1 French M15 Adrian helmet of the Gendarmerie ( Military Police ) with white painted flaming grenade to frotn as was their helmet insignia.
This helmet is painted in the early light blue grey colour this not being its first coat of paint. The troops of the Gendarmerie were to set a good example to the rest of the French forces & so several paint coats applied for smartness is not unusual for these Police troops. Interior has the second model leather liner which is of multi construction & seen from 1916 onwards. A very good intact early original chinstrap is still present .
Hard to find helmet from the Adrian family .
