WW2 Canadian Battle Damaged/Grenade Splintered Helmet
A Canadian issue MkII helmet that has evidence of grenade blast to shell .
In all of its original distinctively Canadian green paint the helmets rim has a large gash to one edge with peppering to body of the shell very typical of a grenade blast. Marked to underside ' GSW Mk 1 1941' for the Canadian firm 'General Steel Wares' & to liner ' 71/8 VMC 1941' for the Canadian firm Viceroy Manufacturing Company . Fitted with a British chinstrap & showing heavy wear to liner .
