WW2 British Naval Deck Crew MkII Helmet 1940

A rare British Royal Navy helmet as used by deck crews on Anti Aircraft duty from around the 1944/45 period.
Helmet is a standard MkII with wartime economy officer insignia added to front this having clearly been in place for many years . One can see the lighter shipboard grey to helmets underside with a darker grey finish on the outside that exhibits heavy wear & paint loss . There is a handpainted name to helmet rims underside at rear & also the visible maker initials 'JSS' ( Joseph SANKEY) & the date 1940 .
Totally untouched & worthy of further research an interesting helmet that has no doubt seen much action at sea.
