French Chasseur A' Cheval ( Cavalry ) NCOs Kepi

An early private purchase kepi for an NCO of the 15th Chasseurs A' Cheval ( French Cavalry).
Originating from the latter part of the 1800s it has light blue band & red body with gilt chinstrap & plain buttons for sergeant rank . The red regimental numbers '19' are totally original to the piece . Interior is of fine quality red faux silk with tailor name 'Houber' to crown. A thin leatherette sweatband is fitted with gold patterned edging.
In overall very good condition there is some minor moth tracking to the blue band with a small hole & a couple of minor nips to top.
