USMC Vietnam War Period M1 Helmet
A WW2 US M1 front seam swivel bales helmet with camouflage cover that has been used in the Vietnam war period & most likely Korea also.
This helmet has USMC Globe & Laurel emblem to front of its beach side out cover with rust bleed which corresponds to the helmet shell underneath. This helmet shell with its front seam & swivel bales also has blackened brass CS buckles which would date it from around the October 1944 period onwards. Liner is a Westinghouse produced example & again of wartime manufacture with Nape strap having visible contract code. Liner chinstrap is complete although it has broken in the middle. Wear around the rim of the helmet evidences the covers situation on this helmet for a very long time .
