WW2 British Helmet With Early Royal Marines Flash 1938
An early British 1938 dated helmet of the Mk1 pattern with Royal Marines flash to left side & camouflage net that has always been on the helmet.
This Mk1 pattern predated the MkII & has 1938 dates to chinstrap brackets & liner. Flash in the colours of the Marines still very visible with imprint on the outer shell as a result of the net having been on the helmet for a very long time. With age the net has torn from the tied string under its rim enabling us to inspect properly the flash & the imprint underneath. Liner is very good with malleable rexene tongues & chinstrap present.
