WW2 US Shoes , Service,Composition Sole
A pair of Europe found 1939 regulation Service shoes these being the early type of combat ankle boot used by US infantry & other troops. These are referred to as the Type II having rubber taps & soles as of October 1940. Being of chrome-tanned russeted leather with toe caps , rubber soles and heels. Complete with their original cotton laces & offered as found , uncleaned & left behind in Europe by a GI having recently surfaced in a long forgotten about hayloft .
