WW2 British PIAT Mount - Found Normandy
A totally 'been there' mounting from the famous PIAT gun ( Projector,Infantry, Anti Tank) found in the Tilly-Sur-Seulles area of Normandy some years ago.
Still in its original green British army paint with a fully working telescopic stand that can be risen & lowered by the use of the side lever. The hinged barrel locking mechanism also works perfectly . Testament to the fighting it was probably involved in the base is slightly warped rather than sitting proud on a flat surface .
Scene of much fighting by the 50th (Northumbrian) Infantry Division supporting the 7th Armoured Division on their push through to Villers Bocage & subsequently Caen.
