A near perfect example of the WW1 French waterbottle of the 2 litre capacity these being standard issue to infantry troops in WW1.
Still with original horizon blue cover this has its name label still intact with the beautifully handwritten French soldiers name to bottom ' Valliere Lucien' . With early brass buckled carrying strap & both corks it comes with original WW1 period drinking cup that is soldier numbered & maker marked 'ETS JAPY FRERE GRAND PRIX 1867-1872 ' . Japy were also well known makers of the French Adrian helmet.
