WW1 US 36th Infantry Division Tunic - Meuse/Argonne
WW1 US M1917 tunic worn by a signalman of the 'Arrowhead' 36th. Infantry Division which was famously formed from units of the Texas & Oklahoma National Guards.
Tunic is in very good condition with US Army Signal Corps collar insignia & Arrowhead 36th shoulder patch to left side. The contract label on the underside of its early champagne lining gives date of 1917 . All front buttons are US Army embossed.
Overall in very good condition.
An infantry division that during its relatively brief period of deployment time from July 1918 onwards saw heavy combat on the Western Front participating in the Meuse-Argonne offensive suffering 2,584 casualties , 466 KIA & 2,118 wounded or missing.
