WW1 US M17 Brodie Helmet
A WW1 US M17 steel helmet as worn by American combat troops in WW1.
After the initial 400,000 British Brodie helmets were supplied to US forces upon entry into WW1 , they began their own production of the US M17 helmet which is almost identical in appearance. An excellent example it retains most of its granulated khaki paint & has markings to underside of the shell which are the heat stamp relating to a specific manufacturer & batch number . These appear to be ' IIC 3 CS' .
As worn in the Aisne , Marne , Meuse-Argonne etc by US troop the liner system is intact with leather chinstrap supple & undamaged .
