Published WW1 German Splotch Camouflage Helmet With Battle Damage
Interesting brush applied splotch camouflage helmet incorporating the classic light green with more subtle brown & olive green/dark green areas visible to the shell upon close inspection. This , at one time , would have been quite a striking helmet as now the colours have subdued somewhat & natural age patination has neutralised the colours. It is of note that the shell has a split to its top crown from a shell blast .
An M16 made by Quist with size mark '66' (Q66) the interior shows two of the pad holders both with original pads still in them. The leather headband is of early construction. All three liner pins are original to the helmet.
