Souvenir Grouping From The Gulf War 'Operation Granby' & 'Desert Sabre' 1991
A fascinating British soldiers souvenir grouping from the Gulf War of 1991 comprised of an Iraqi M80 helmet , Iraqi flag & Iraqi 'Mother of all Battles' medal these items were souvenired by a member of the British 1st Armoured Division.
Iraqi helmet is of the M80 model with Rhino insignia denoting '1st Armoured' with '91' for the year 1991. Operational titles & placenames can also be seen. The helmet is of a Desert yellow colour with black specs most likely being 'Oil Rain' a consequence of Oil Fields being set alight as is often seen on footage of the conflict. Interior liner system intact with what appears to be the name of the Iraqi soldier. The Iraqi flag shows no rips or tears & the medal comes with an unissued Iraqi Army ID card. This ID dates to desert storm, and translates to :
Front, Army Model Number 43, ID Number,Date of Issue, Nationality Certificate Number, Date of Issue.
