WW2 South African Army MkII Steel Helmet 1942
The South African steel helmet was modelled on the British helmet & also designated the MkII .
Its distinctive feature is the placement of three holes to the rear rim for the neck flap however this is rarely seen in use even in the Desert conditions within which these were mainly worn. Desert camouflage paint largely intact.
Liner cradle marked with maker & date 'JASER BAND 1942 ' & South African ordnance marking of arrow within U.
