WW1 German M16 Helmet with Chinstrap Wurttemberg BA stamped
A very complete and interesting example of the standard M16 steel helmet with shell made by and marked W66 ,this being for Herman Weissenburger and Co of Stuttgart-Cannstatt. This company only pressed size 66 shells and is one of the harder makers to find . The most interesting and scarce feature is a BA XIII Corps of Wurttemberg depot acceptance stamp to the leather band . The vast majority of helmets do not have any BA stampings except as here ,and thus a Wurttemberg only peculiarity. The scarce original chinstrap is present and all leather work remains good and supple . The exterior paint good with a nice overall untouched patina .
