WW1 French 'Textbook' Mustard Coloured Zouve Adrian Helmet
A fantastic untouched example of a rare & 'true' mustard khaki painted "Armee D'Afrique" M15 Adrian steel helmet . This particular shell started life as a factory horizon blue version that was overpainted in mustard from late 1915 when the army of Africa, who were fighting in the trenches of the western front , swapped their often exotic uniforms for the more practical Mustard / khaki . The first helmet worn by these troops from August 1915 were standard Blue Adrians fitted with grenade badges . The crescent badge was not issued till a little later hence the not unusual mis match . A well combat used helmet with a striking patina and a full well marked early first pattern liner system
