WW1 French Infantry Officers "Bonnet de Police " Side cap - Commandant Rank

A very good example of a French officers side cap . This is cut in the M1891 style but in Horizon blue fine wool . This style was replaced from 1918 with the higher "Empire " style ( thus making this example certainly Great War ) . There is a yellow infantry piping and 4 gold bullion high ranking ,Chief du battalion gallons to the front . The condition is very good with only a tiny few small moth nips . the high quality golden yellow brush silk liner is a little grubby but good .
