USMC Vietnam War M1 Combat Helmet
An iconic American M1 helmet of the Vietnam war as worn by a member of the USMC.
This helmet exudes battle wear with correlating age fading to cover that has clearly always been on this helmet shell. To the front & back of the Mitchell camouflage cover is a red tactical insignia patch with underside of one tongue of the cover having a label that reads 'COVER,HELMET, CAMOUFLAGE MARINE CORPS SUPPLY ACTIVITY ' with a series of batch numbers. The name 'Lightner' is handwritten to the underside of another tongue with 'W.J.L' written onto each side of the cover. Helmet shell is a rear seam swivel bales example. Liner is a wartime Westinghouse made example some of these were still in use when the Vietnam war started. Leather chinstrap intact.
