WW2 British Thick Textured Camouflage MkII Steel Helmet 1939
A very striking untouched British 'Tommy' combat helmet this being a MkII steel helmet that has received a thick granulated camouflage paint to its exterior & underside.
These left the factory in a much smoother khaki paint finish & were often overpainted around 1940 & onwards with a thicker non reflective paint for reasons of camouflage as is the case here. Totally untouched the liner is undisturbed & the cradle marked 'BMB 1939' . Web chinstrap shows wear with elasticity still present.
