WW1 British '07 Pattern Matching Numbered To 1st Pattern Scabbard Hooked Quillon Bayonet Marked 1st Northumberland Fusiliers With 1915 Dated Frog

A recently found in France rare early hooked quillon '07 pattern bayonet with regimental markings to 1st Northumberland Fusiliers & matching numbered first pattern scabbard. Still in its original 1915 dated frog.
Marked to ricasso with issue date '1 11' for January 1911 &'EFD' for maker Enfield. Pommel marking of '1 NF' clear with weapon number '180' which matches that of the scabbard which also has the number 'R805'. Scabbard having markings & date '09' for 1909. Overall service wear , some minor bruising to walnut grips & sharpening to blade as was done in readiness for combat. The 1908 pattern unblancoed frog is in early issue still with helve strap & faint markings 'MECo1915' .

1 Northumberland Fusiliers were in active combat early WW1 1914 at Battle of Mons, Battle of Le Cateau, Battle of the Marne, Battle of the Aisne, and First Battle of Ypres.
