German Reichswehr/ Early WW2 Messtin

This is the German pattern of aluminium messtin produced in the late twenties although sometimes incorrectly described as WW1 issue. Due to the downsizing of the German army according to the Versailles Treaty no messkits were produced until 1927 this model that chosen with a couple of small variations in the handle. These were still used into WW2 by rear echelon troops & are certainly part of the German combat equipment story.
