WW2 French 'Battle For France' Period Model 35 Waterbottle With Soldiers Wrist Watch
A very good example of the standard French soldiers waterbottle from the 1935 pattern equipment which was in use during the Battle for France in the summer of 1940. This bottle has a personal touch with the soldier having fastened his wristwatch to the carrying strap.
These were a slight upgrade from the WW1 1877 model having only one main spout & a khaki wool cover as per the new khaki issue of uniform. This example has a one piece shoulder strap with a French wristwatch still fastened onto it no doubt either for efficient carriage or a souvenir acquired in that period. There is the usual factory applied name label to bottom .
Quite a rare piece in superb condition.
