WW1 British 1915 dated '08 pattern largepack with initials to front 'J.W.S.W RS ' these being the initials of an officer in the Royal Scots.
Pack marked 'MW&S' for the Mills , Wright & Sons .
Cursory research point towards this being JW Withinshaw commissioned 18th July 1916 to the 10th Cyclist Battalion Territorials. Seconded ( Transferred 10th December 1917) . read more

Manufactured in the latter period of 1914 this model of pickelhaube was simplified to an Ersatz form in felt quite often omitting the brass front visor trim & rear spine.
