To hold the .455 Webley revolver on the Sam Browne equipment set this private purchase holster has a tab with hook to stop it sliding down the belt when in wear.
I am unable to find any markings .

French equipment changed from the prewar black to brown not long after the war started this being an example of a wartime manufacture with brass rivets & lacquered steel buckle. Artillery Regiment marking stamped in lozenge to interior of belt. read more
