WW1 French 42nd Inf. Regiment Trumpet Banner

A French soldiers souvenir of WW1 being a beautifully made hanger for the 42nd Infantry regiment with Cross of Lorraine medal ribbon & Cross of Lorraine incorporated into the design.
Made from the 1915 horizon blue woollen uniform material it is edges in yellow which is the infantry branch colour. Some moth as can be seen in pictures but a very nice piece of WW1 French 'Poilu' history.  read more

WW2 French 'Fall of France' Battle Damaged M26 Adrian Helmet

Interesting helmet with a shrapnel rip to shell & testament to the desperate fighing in the Defence of France in the summer of 1940.
Helmet is a standard M26 in original green paint with badge minus to front. Top comb intact. To the underside of the front lip is a name which may be dechipered upon close inspection.  read more

It is very difficult to find British Tommy helmets with blast damage so this piece with shrapnel gashes to the top is a timely reminder of the British fighting soldier.
