A rare empty K Ration Breakfast meal as issued to US troops & used extensively in NW Europe where this piece was recently found.
Having existed since 1942 they were first issued in brown card cartons however this was changed to colour as here in May 1944 just prior to the Normandy invasion. Both the exterior & inner cartons can be seen here the contents long gone !
